Democracy as tyranny
2 Comments Published by sauvik January 23rd, 2006 in Libertarian, Anarcho Capitalism, PhilosophyHere is an excellent review of Hans-Hermann Hoppe’s Democracy: The God that Failed by Keith Preston, who is billed as America’s revolutionary vanguard.
I’m afraid Sauvik’s post is the most bizarre one I’ve read from someone who identifies himself as a “libertarian” So now the way to achieve our ideals of limited government is to hand over absolute power to a monarch? How convenient! If only we had received the benefit of his insight earlier, the […]
The riddle of anarchy; solved through ethics
14 Comments Published by sauvik March 17th, 2005 in Anarcho CapitalismAs a guest blogger on AnarchoCapitalistLibertarian, a term as yet to be defined by the proprietor of the blog, or by his infamous “cartel”, I have taken this pleasant task upon myself.
The term anarcho-capitalist was coined by the late Professor Murray N Rothbard to describe his political credo. Since then, very few people – like […]
A brief post by Tom Palmer on Iceland reminded me of Jesse Byock’s excellent book Viking Age Iceland. As a sidelight, Palmer gives an interesting minimalist definition of libertarianism in a comment on his post.
For the more academically inclined, David Friedman has a paper on the legal and political institutions of Iceland from […]

“The probability broach”
Aadisht Khanna has a funny take on elections in IIM Bangalore which develop into an anarcho capitalist epiphany for him.
Also reminds me of Chandrachoodan Gopalakrishnan’s anarcho capitalist musings some months ago. (it’s on his old blog, and the comments by Ravikiran are worth reading)
Happy to see the “anar” section of AnarCapLib developing roots!
Question for the voter
0 Comments Published by Yazad Jal February 18th, 2004 in Political Theatre, Anarcho CapitalismWith elections upon us and citizen’s groups urging the middle class to vote, I thought this question to be essential.
Q. Who Gets A Better Prime Minister . . .
… - a conscientious, informed, principled and intelligent voter or a dim-witted and ignorant voter?
A. They both get the same Prime Minister!

Bihar, India and hope
2 Comments Published by Yazad Jal December 31st, 2003 in India, Anarcho CapitalismShubhrangshu Roy ends the year with some hope seen through Bihari eyes.
Nothing good that’s happened to us ever happened because our government planned it that way. Everything that’s happening is despite our government being there. And it’s happening because the nation’s freed itself from the fear of living under siege, brought about by years of […]
The Blogosphere as Spontaneous Order
9 Comments Published by Yazad Jal December 1st, 2003 in Web World, Anarcho CapitalismIn two superb posts, Jonathan Wilde at Catallarchy describes how the blogosphere is an excellent example of free market anarchy and spontaneous order (or kosmos as he calls it).
Even without a central command apparatus, the blogosphere, rather than being chaotic, is a dynamic, living, breathing, adapting, and most of all, structured organism. (italics in original)
Needless […]
A sporting look at anarcho capitalist law
1 Comment Published by Yazad Jal November 27th, 2003 in Law, Anarcho CapitalismAndy Duncan at Samizdata, still drunk over the English Rugby victory (can’t blame him, England seems to win precious little in sports these days), visualizes a functioning system of competing laws.
Competitive laws? As in more than one legal system? You can choose which court to go to? What about the other side? What if […]
