Monsoon Luck
Published by Yazad Jal July 12th, 2005 in BombayEver enjoyed monsoon luck? It’s pouring all day, but when you decide to go out, the skies stop the spray. Run along, get the errand done and as soon as you back home, the rains restart. It’s like you have the power to switch the rains on and off to suit your convenience! I’ve had a spot of monsoon luck many times this season. It manifests itself in other ways too. Every time it’s rained I’ve had an umbrella with me. Every time I’ve forgotten the umbrella home, the skies stayed dry!
As with every form of luck, it’s best not to push it though. I’ve lived through seasons when it would be dry all day and start pouring with a vengeance only when I stepped out. But on the whole, providence has been kind to me this year–I?ve only lost one umbrella till now!
I wish I had monsoon luck… Everytime I go out thinking it won’t rain, I’ve been drenched. Everytime I take an umbrella with me, it doesn’t rain. I don’t take an umbrella, I get drenched…
Staying at home gives me immense monsoon luck, though! :))
Confirmation bias?
Oh yes! But this generally happens to me when I have to run errands I so don’t want to!
