Mediaah is back
Published by Yazad Jal January 17th, 2005 in Web WorldMediaah! was the best “one topic” blog I’d seen with superb commentary on the Indian media, till it closed down around a year back. Pradyuman Maheshwari seems to have got his act back on track. I’m going to enjoy his analyses — here’s one on the battle for business channels
And why is it back? Ask Pradyuman — he answers all.
Yaaay! I’m glad to see it back. Now if only he would enable comments on his site. :)
What is it with you and comments, MadMan? Shoo, down boy!
So that, dear Amit, I can leave my thoughts on the subject - usually just a couple of lines - without writing my own blog entry about it. So that I can point out on the spot when you quote Vinod Mehta out of context. Or fight back when you suggest that the government should regulate how companies run themselves.
Hey, that was a rhetorical question, you’re not supposed to answer those. And all this while I thought you wanted comments enabled so you could write nice things about my posts. Bummer.
Well Amit, not everybody is as nice as me. I send you my comments by email. Now if you’re still gonna clamp donw on comments, maybe you can do what Andrew Sullivan does: post an “emails recived” note once in a while.
Cunning plan. Maybe I’ll open a sub-blog for my letters.
Do note that I disabled comments not to stop reasonable guys like you and Madman from making reasonable comments, as I believe that adds a lot of value, but to stop the kind of abuse I’d regularly get for my Cricinfo blog.
Wasn’t this post about Pradyuman? Why have we hijacked it? Sorry, PM.
Get your own domain, Amit. I’ll set you up with some web space and a proper blogging tool that will help you run multiple blogs on the same site. Then I’ll show you how to switch on comment moderation to keep the arseholes at bay. :)
(Has Yazad told you about my technical superskills? ;)
Hey, Madman, thanks for the offer. I’ll stick with Blogger, I think, for a variety of reasons, but I will call on your legendary skills for advice on a couple of things that I need to figure out, if I may. Soon.
Thanks folks for your comments.
I’ve deliberately not opted on for comments in order to avoid slanderous stuff getting in on Mediaah!
Since I have a host of journos from media organisations as readers (this morning’s count: 8186), the last thing I’d want is pointless personal crusades getting on the site.
Hence the moderated comments, even though I know that it goes against the spirit of the Net.
Cheers!
