Tsunami blogging

The next few posts by me will be on peripheral (but very interesting) aspects of the deadly Tsunami that hit us this week. I’m not going to focus on the well covered areas like news and relief operations. For that, go to the excellent South-East Asia Earthquake and Tsunami blog.

Ravikiran has a few thoughts on relief organisations and the kind of relief he’d like to support.

    Ravikiran says:

I want to contribute to an NGO that will spend its money efficiently, i.e. doesn’t spend too much on “administrative expenses” (i.e. salaries for its managers).

That means you want to only give money to NGOs which cant get the best talent because of the low salaries they pay? I woudl prefer to give my money to an NGO which hires the best managers and pays them the most - not to some NGO which hires people with little or no management training and pays them a pittance,
