Blog Mela Announcement
Published by Yazad Jal October 22nd, 2004 in Web World
The next Bharteeya Blog Mela will be hosted here on October 28.
For the trivia inclined, I started blogging on October 28. A few famous people started their lives (Bill Gates, Julia Roberts, my kid brother) and some lives ended (John Locke). The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28 and it’s the Greek National Day as well! More on wikipedia. There is also the small matter of a lunar eclipse (sadly not visible in India).
The regular directions and rules are below. Do have a dekho at my recent mela musings as well.
The Rules
- Posts must either be made by Indians or must focus on India or Indians.
- Send in permalinks to the individual blog entries only, not just the URL. If the permalink is not working, send me the title and date of the blog entry.
- You can nominate your own posts or someone else's.
- You can submit any type of posts except personal journal entries.
Directions for nominating entries for the Mela
- Drop it as a comment to this post. (No, don’t send me a mail. Just a comment here)
- The entries have to be dated between October 21-27.
- Please send your nominations to me latest by October 28, 8 pm IST.
The mela should be up by 9 pm on October 28.
For more on the Blog Mela, here’s an old piece by on JK’s blog. Some of the earlier melas are archived here. Shanti, do update the archive when you get the time!
Yazad, Could you change the link to this page http://varnam.org/blog/archives/2003/03/blog_mela_answe.html
Somehow the page with the old stylesheet is still around.
Wow, not even a single nomination?

I nominate this post.
I have a new post up about India and outsourcing. I look at the recent article in CFO that said the era of outsourcing to India is over, and essentially say that the author is full of crap :P
The post is here
Thanks!
Yazad, thanks for prodding me. I hope you consider my latest post, Not 18 Till I Die, for the Mela.
I wanted to send the shorter Filter Coffee version but Blogger is having the hiccups. What an auspicious way to make a comeback. Hmph!
