Bombay and Everything
Published by Yazad Jal October 6th, 2004 in Art / LiteratureTwo books caught my eye recently. Yesterday at Crossword it was Sukutu Mehta’s Maximum City : Bombay Lost and Found and today at Strand Bill Bryson’s A Short History of Nearly Everything.
I spent 10-15 minutes browsing through each book and liked what I read. I’m wondering if I should buy them as I already have a longish “to read” list. Need to finish White Mughals and my re-read of Focault’s Pendulum first.
The section on Geology in ASHONE is delightful. Do move it up your must-buy list.
Can vouch for the Bryson. Was gifted to me by the Jegan and the Bajji. Nice read! Also called Science for Dummy Engineers.
Can’t quite match your esoteric reading list, but yes, Maximum City : Bombay Lost and Found should definitely go on your list :-)
