Single standard only

The Parsis too wanted some film about Alexander to be banned right? Why don’t you write about them? Your double standards are boggling the mind.
Here are two articles from the TOI on the Farohar symbol in Oliver Stone’s film “Alexander”.
Parsis protest use of holy symbol in film
Holy symbol nothing to do with Alexander
There have been Parsi protests led by Zubin Mehta, but nowhere do I see a ban being asked for. Can someone please show me where a ban on screening the film has been explcitly asked for?
Oh so are you now saying that there are no bigots among Parsis?
Don’t be silly. There are loads of bigots amongst Parsis too. (slippery slope is your favourite fallacy right?)
I don’t even agree with the protests bit. I think it’s a storm in a teacup.
There was no talk of a ban at all, but you went a bit overboard (my mind boggles at that) so I decided to post briefly on the topic.
Ok. I won’t be silly.
People are allowed to protest, right? That’s a fundamental part of democracy.
MadMan, I fully support the right to protest (right to free speech / assembly etc). I simply disagree with this specific protest so you won’t see me out in the street with Zubin Mehta.
I just want a bit of stats bcos I am not aware of the funda…. Do protests like this make any difference other than covering some space in TOI ? By protests like this I mean 1 time affairs with no prolonged plan and on issues which cannot be converted into political issues.
My my…..it is a pity to see how the disappearance of Jivha has affected you guys. Picking petty fights amongst yourselves?
Ravi and I have a history going all the way to 10, Janpath ;-)
BTW, he doesn’t exactly agree with you on population as well :-P
This has nothing to do with Jivha. I have a long history of losing my marbles when commenting on other people’s blogs.
