Lorem Ipsum

Lorem Ipsum has a pretty interesting history. For one, it’s not random text, it’s Latin (sometimes mangled, but Latin) — an extract from something Cicero wrote way back in 45 BC. Actually the main phrase and it’s meaning too are intriguing.
“Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit…”“There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it and wants to have it, simply because it is pain…”
2000 years later, the life of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch proved Cicero wrong.

And you know why designers use Lorem Ipsum over any other legible text? So that viewers’ opinion of the design does not get influenced by the content quality or the lack of it.
