More trash from Tavleen

Poor Tavleen Singh. She’s lost respect, perspective and now even a bearing for facts. In her latest anti Sonia tirade, she questions Sonia Gandhi’s renunciation stating that it was because of adverse remarks by the President. Maybe Tavleen Singh has not read this.

CITIZENSHIP ISSUE NOT DISCUSSED WITH SMT. SONIA GANDHI

19-05-2004 : Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi

PRESS RELEASE
It has been reported in a section of the press that the President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had discussed the citizenship issue with Smt. Sonia Gandhi when she met him yesterday at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This is contrary to facts. It did not figure in the discussions at all.

So is Rashtrapati Bhavan lying? Or is it Tavleen Singh?

She also blames Sonia Gandhi for the stock market crash of May 17th. But as the week ends we see the markets bounce back. Will Tavleen Singh please blame Sonia Gandhi for the rise too? How dare Sonia Gandhi choose Manmohan Singh as PM! How dare the stock markets recover from Monday’s crash!

the only paper that carried that story was the Pioneer. the pioneer, if i am not mistaken, is the English equivalent of Panchajanya. They both are the RSS mouth piece.
i don’t think that they printed the retraction.

The Asian Age carried it. So did rediff.com Rediff published a retraction. I don’t read Asian Age regularly, so I don’t know if they did. Many other media outlets must have also carried the story. That is immaterial.

Tavleen Singh could have easily double checked. Rashtrapati Bhavan under APJ Abdul Kalam is much more open than earlier. Plus the press release leaves nothing to the imagination.

Please don’t be naive & fooled by Press Release.
Sonia’s so called inner voice asked her to back off is just another shrewd ploy to play martyr which has not only saved her from humiliation she would face, for she was to be thrown out today or tomorrow but will also come in handy for her kids. President is downplaying the issue, & rightly so for he probably does not want to add fuel to fire.

So … don’t believe the Press Release; believe “Pioneer”? Riiight.

I wonder which is more naive.

When did A B Bardhan become C P Bardhan, one must ask tavleen. Maybe after he forgot the A and B of logic and joined the C P of India. :)

Gaurav, that could be a typo at the newspaper’s end.

I personally believe that if there was a suggestion from the President, which most likely seems so, we cannot expect the Rashtrapathi Bhavan to inform the public about it.

This is the only way Sonia Gandhi can provide an explanation for her decision.

I think the stock market crash is more related to the left’s participation in the government than Sonia Gandhi. But there is definitely a sonia element in it.

The rise of the market clearly shows that the investors and gamblers accepted Sonia Gandhi’s choice of Manmohan Singh.

    Suhit, this is true:

I personally believe that if there was a suggestion from the President, (snip), we cannot expect the Rashtrapathi Bhavan to inform the public about it.

But Rashtrapati Bhavan did not keep quiet. If it did, I would have belived the rumour. It actually took the unlikely step of issuing a denial. To doubt that denial is to implicitly say that Dr. Kalam is lying. I will not go that far.
