Astro-blah-ology
Published by Yazad Jal August 21st, 2003 in AtheismRather obvious. But kudos to the Daily Telegraph for putting it down on paper and not leaving it to the “stars.”
Astrologers fail to predict proof they are wrong [needs free registration]
Good news for rational, level-headed Virgoans everywhere: just as you might have predicted, scientists have found astrology to be rubbish. Its central claim - that our human characteristics are moulded by the influence of the Sun, Moon and planets at the time of our birth - appears to have been debunked once and for all and beyond doubt by the most thorough scientific study ever made into it.
…Researchers looked at more than 100 different characteristics, including occupation, anxiety levels, marital status, aggressiveness, sociability, IQ levels and ability in art, sport, mathematics and reading - all of which astrologers claim can be gauged from birth charts.
The scientists failed to find any evidence of similarities between the “time twins”, however. They reported in the current issue of the Journal of Consciousness Studies: “The test conditions could hardly have been more conducive to success . . . but the results are uniformly negative.”
Damn. Some things are just not written in the stars! How inconvenient!

Update: Just had a look at my first post on Carpe Diem written around 10 months back.
Enjoy life and I’ll wait a day before bombarding my bullshit. If you belive in astrology then all my shit is bullshit as I’m supposedly a Taurean. Oops! You guessed it — I think astrology is bullshit personified.
Astrological Transits for George Bush in November 2003
In October and November 2003 Saturn conjuncts his and the American Suns.
On the 23rd of November there is a solar eclipse. There is a fairly high likelihood of there being a social scare or a very upsetting event for the president around this time, to say the least.
Airline officials should be especially vigilant at the end of November. Since Mars is in the American 7th house, this applies to America and all her allies. I don’t want to alarm anyone, but his transits look rather severe during this period.
17th November: Neptune opposed his Pluto at 10Leo35
25th November: Pluto opposed his Uranus at 19Gem09
25th November: Mercury conjunct his Uranus at 19Gem09
26th November: Jupiter square his progressed North Node at 16Gem32
26th November: Mars square his Uranus at 19Gem09
29th November: Mars square his North Node at 20Gem36
Note that his progressed Sun is conjunct his Mars during this whole period.
Moon aspects during the above period:
23rd November 7pm LMT - Moon square his Mars.
24th November 11am LMT - Moon opposed his Uranus.
25th November - Mercury opposed his Uranus and progressed MC.
25th November 10pm LMT - Moon opposed his Pluto.
I’ve just had a look at the aspects for his whole family and around the 25th of November they share a similar looking set of aspects, mostly to do with Mars and Uranus. I only found out this week that his daughters were born on the 25th of November. It is therefore a likelihood that his family may be celebrating together on that day. The thought occurred to me that, should a Bin Laden loyalist or Saddam Hussein be planning revenge for losing his sons, this could possibly be a day that they would love to go for. I don’t think it would be at all wise to approach any of the president’s family members with this information. However, it would probably do no harm if the president’s bodyguards were aware of the ‘planetary attack’ around November 25th. Even if they think astrologers are a bunch of nutters, they could still give us the benefit of the doubt and be extra vigilant during the last week of November.
