Blog Mela # 18

First, apologies for the delay. No excuses! I beg your indulgence and forgiveness.
For my money, the blogger of the week is Niraj. One, he blogs around five times a day; two, he includes at least one well written comment on policy every day; three, he’s giving me a major complex! The top five from Niraj are:
Rebuilding Afghanistan through oil | Belgian War Crimes (I love it when supercilious nations get their comeuppance!) More here | India’s pathetic adoption system | The conversion tamasha between the world two largest (and most proselytising) religions | and the best, Niraj’s cheer for globalisation–with facts collected by a global attitude survey.
. . .the developing world is telling these anti-globalisation protestors to take a hike, or, better yet, jump off a cliff.
Bravo!
Kingsley drafts out an atheist personal law
Booze and drugs have a competitor. Indian Ink frets about Internet Addiction. Helpful hints and links, but I’m afraid most of us in blogdesh would be hardcore addicts. There’s a quiz as well, and though Ink refuses to tell us her score, I shall confess that I’m well and truly addicted!
JK exposes the lies of Pritish Nandy, the Shiv Sena MP who masquerades as a “journalist.”
Dinesh Rao writes about Indian Jews and their difficulty in being recognised as Jews by Israel. Has a pic of a Cochin synagogue. BTW, I’ve seen some beautiful synagogues in Bombay too!
Nancy Gandhi is enraptured by Tansen and the famous Raag Deepak / Megh Malhar story. Once again, some nice pics, including one of KL Saigal!
Sameer blogs on the new range of Nokia models, and comes up with something unexpected.
Shanti dissects America’s supposed “great game”.
Gaurav fulminates against the hypocrisy of the Indian government. Just not cricket!
Sampada tantalizes, and leaves us hungry. We want more!
Finally, yours truly has a couple of funny comments here. Cheers till next week!
Great job, Yaz - I am sorry I couldn’t get to you earlier - check out RWO and you will find out why :)
I will mirror the Mela at RWO tomorrow - that fine? Thanks, again!
Thanks for posting my entry. Great collection.
I agree with your obeservation about Niraj. I find myself visiting his site very often in a day.
Hey Thanks for including me. :-) Nice Mela. Next time…BE ON TIME!! *Mock stern look*
You love me! You really, really love me! Gee, I feel like a minor celebrity. Perhaps now Aishwaria Rai will give some attention now that I am somewhat famous. :-)
Shanti, Ind, Sampada,
Thanks for the kind words.
JK, yes, it’s soemtimes a bit of a high discovering someone on the net who writes well, and often. Happened when I came across your site as well;-)
Niraj, *hush* this is a love that dare not speak it’s name ;-)
