TV Serial Philosophy
Published by Yazad Jal April 2nd, 2003 in AtheismI don’t expect TV serials to be profound, but hey I can be proven wrong. Saw Sanjeevani today.
In the relevant scene, two doctors come out of the Op Theatre after operating on a man badly hurt in an accident. His mother asks the doctors “Is my son OK? Was the operation successful?” The senior doctor replies “We are keeping him under observation for 6 hours. We can tell only after that. Pray to God, have faith in Him and all will be well.”
Mother — “For me the doctors treating my son are Gods. If there was a God, there would have been no accident.”
I doubt the screenwriter intended this, but the mother’s hit the nail on the head! There is no God.
In the midst of all the pooja-blah-blah in TV serials, an inadvertent blast of fresh reality.
